Your Will be Done

Praying the way Jesus Taught

Mt 6:13 NKJV

13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

We must ask that God’s will be done.  It’s important to only ask for our daily needs.   It is also imperative we forgive others, the way we have been forgiven.  The last part is just as important as the rest.  It shows we need to trust God to lead and guide us through our everyday lives.  When we trust in Him, we can be assured He will deliver us from the evil one.  We must understand God can and will help us through every situation we find ourselves in when we turn to Him and ask for His help.

Not all versions include the last part, but we need to put it all into perspective.  When we finish asking for our needs, we must remind ourselves Who we are seeking our requests from.  Just as in the beginning, we should end our prayers on the same note as we started.  Giving glory to God shows we know how mighty and powerful He truly is.  We close our requests by giving all praise and honor to the Creator who loves us.

Father, I thank You for showing me how to come to You in prayer.  Please help me remember how awe-inspiring You truly are.  I give You heartfelt honor and praise.  I long to worship You in everything I do.  Thank You.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
