Preparing for Battle

Ephesians 6:12 NIV

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

This verse gives us an example of who our enemy is.  We cannot just get physically fit and blow up the devil with a hand grenade, as much as we would like to.  Our war is mainly Spiritual.

Our battles require the full armor of God found in the following verses.  Paul is explaining to the Ephesians who they were fighting, and how they were to prepare for battle.  Read Ephesians 6:13-17 for a complete list.

It is very important to know who our enemy is today, and having this armor not only helps us defensively, but offensively, too.  We need to be awake and alert in this time in our lives.  There is no time to rest and relax.  Our battle is raging, and it is only going to get worse.  Keep your armor on and pray protection for yourself and your loved ones.  God is very much in this war, and He will help us all fight when we turn to Him for help.
