Just as physical battle armor is necessary, our Spiritual armor is even more important. We are fighting against an enemy we cannot even see. We have no idea where our next attack is coming from, so we need to make sure we are prepared for anything the enemy will throw our way.
We can find the whole list of our battle gear in Ephesians 6:14-17. There are so many truths we can stand on and learn from in these verses. One I want to point out is the statement Paul makes to his readers in verse 12.
Ephesians 6:12 AMP
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.
We may look around our world and think there was never a time darker than what we are living in today. In truth, Paul, and the other Christians, were in terrible situations. Paul was beaten, stoned, left for dead, jailed, and many other horrible things. Many Christians around the world still suffer these problems today, just for speaking God’s truth, and claiming Him as their Savior.
No matter where we are or what is going on in the world around us, we should be trusting in God, and preparing for battle. Ephesians 6:10-17 shows us what we all need daily. We must be ready to combat all the enemy pursues us with. We must trust in God today and prove we are ready for the battle we know is raging around us.
