Standing Strong

When I think of standing strong, I think of a showdown at the OK Corral.  (I may be showing my age! LOL) Imagine two people standing across from each other just staring one another in the eye. The two are very intent.  The air is sill – no breeze at all.  There is a line drawn in the sand.  There are no guns in this battle, just sheer will.  It is a dare.  Who will flinch first?  Will one of them back down and step over the line?

That is how it is with satan and us sometimes.  Jesus has drawn the line in the sand, showing us how we should live and directing our paths.  But satan is standing on the other side, staring at us, trying to get us to back down and take one step across that line.  Sometimes we may not be strong enough and we take that step.  Don’t worry, we have all done it and we all will at some point, because we are not perfect.  But God has blessed us and does not punish us when we are not strong enough. He just leans down and draws another line, giving us another chance.
