Helping Hands

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2, NIV)

There are times when people need a helping hand.  It is frustrating when a coworker seems to be lacking on the job.  It can be upsetting to have to do their work along with ours, but we may not know what is going on in their lives.  Instead of getting mad or upset, we can go to them and ask what we can do to help them.  We are to carry each other’s burdens as it says in Galatians 6:2.  That means we need to get over our feelings and look for ways to help the ones around us.  Whatever we can do to help others will be a blessing for not only them, but for us, too.

The Bible says we reap what we sow.  When we sow blessings, we will reap blessings.  When we sow love, we will reap love.  That is a special promise from God.  Whatever we give away will come back to us in time.  The opposite is true, also.  If we sow discord, we will reap upset.  If we sow anger, we will reap that in abundance.

When we feel ourselves getting angry or upset with someone, we need to look at life through their perspective.  If we offer a helping hand, we will not only bless others, but learn to carry each other’s burdens as well.  The best way to carry other’s burdens is to do so with joy.  When you joyfully give, joy will abound in you.
