Psalm 103:10 ESV
10 He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
God is all powerful and can do all things. There are some things He chooses not to do, though. He chooses to love us so sincerely that He doesn’t give us what our sins actually deserve. We are all sinful people who are bound by an unfortunate nature to sin. We are slaves to sin. God has every right to dishonor us, cast us out, or even kill us. We have all fallen short of His glory. However, He chooses not to treat us as our iniquities require.
Jesus came to love us. He came to die for the sins we commit every day. He longs to have such a close relationship with us that He came to the earth He created and died so we could have our sins forgiven. That is real love. He is the Just Judge who deals with hearts and not works of the flesh. Since He has taken our place on that cross, we can come to Him and be redeemed of our natural behavior. We do not deserve it because of what we have done, but we do deserve it because we are His children. When we repent, our sins are forgiven.
Father, I am so thankful that You love me. Jesus, I cannot express how honored I am that You came to die for me and the sins I have committed. You do not treat me as my sins deserve. Instead, You have called me Your beloved child. I may not completely understand, but I will always be grateful. I love You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
